In light of recent corporate scandals and bankruptcies like Enron, WorldCom and Tyco, CCJ has publicly called upon the Pennsylvania General Assembly and members of Congress to protect consumers and hold corporations accountable for their actions. The Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System, the State Employees Retirement System and state government lost a combined $90 million as a result of the Enron bankruptcy alone. Millions more have been lost by county and local governments. 

 

CCJ promotes laws that hold corporations accountable for their behavior.  We fight for the rights of consumers and victims of corporate abuses to have their cases heard in the courts. We oppose limits on compensation for victims of medical malpractice, product liability and MTBE in the water.
